CMOS
ORGANISM
MKII.
An experimental desktop synthesizer where CMOS logic, analog controls and evolving patterns form one patchable sound machine.
Meet the organism.
Concept panel illustrating the direction of the semi-modular interface. Actual component positions and control labels may change.
A complete instrument. Not a fixed sound.
The current design direction is an integrated semi-modular desktop synthesizer. Its subsystems are divided into independent functional boards, with planned patch points and an internal default signal path.
The aim is to make an instrument that's rewarding without a patch cable, yet opens up when you break the normal routing.
Exploration over predictability
Oscillators, timing logic, analog switching, feedback and time effects are treated as musical resources. New ideas can be tested at the level of a single board or the full instrument.
Designed to be maintained
A separated power and bus architecture is being studied to leave room for changes, safe servicing and future expansion.
From signal to sound.
A simplified, provisional normalled signal path. Control Hub can influence routing across the system.
CMOS oscillators, FM and modulation possibilities
Control and selective signal paths
Delay, feedback and signal transformation
Conditioned signal out to external audio gear
